At CASCON 2011, we'll be demoing our Eclipse plug-in for the Semantic Assistants architecture during the daily Technology Showcase session [1].

Our plug-in allows to execute NLP pipelines, which are implemented in the General Architecture for Text Engineering (GATE), directly from Eclipse. One application scenario is text mining for software engineering tasks, like information extraction or the automatic quality analysis of source code comments. Software engineers can now run sophisticated text mining pipelines alongside traditional software development tools, without requiring knowledge of NLP or text mining frameworks. The complete application stack (plug-in, SA architecture, GATE) is available as open source software.
