The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Concordia University in Montréal, Canada has an opening for a Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF) / Research Associate in the area of text mining and bioinformatics.

The position is located within the new Canadian biofuel network. The candidate will work in the area of text mining for the extraction of enzyme mutations from the fungal genomics literature, for applications in sustainability in general and biofuel in particular. This requires extensive cooperation between the existing bioinformatics and semantic software groups. Hence, the ideal candidate has a background in both bioinformatics and NLP / Text Mining for biomedical documents, a strong publication record, leadership abilities, and experience in implementing and deploying complex systems for end users.

The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled. The initial contract will be for one year with a possible extension for a second year.
